the environment.

is household hazardous waste?
Household hazardous waste includes paints, solvents, cleaning fluids,
batteries, fertilisers, herbicides, pesticides, pool chemicals, petrol
and oils. These materials can cause injury to rubbish collectors, damage
to equipment and contamination of stormwater and landfill sites
How do I get rid of my hazardous waste?

Household hazardous waste can be deposed of free of charge at the
HazMobile, the Auckland region’s mobile hazardous waste collection
service

The HazMobile
visits Papakura on Saturday
08 November 2008,
and will be open between 10 am and 2 pm, but
there are 15 collections per year around the Auckland region. Call
the ARC Enviroline on 366 2000 to find out the dates for collections.
In 2009, the collection in Papakura will be Saturday 07 November.

Illegal Dumping
If it
is on private land, then it is a police matter. Offenders found
illegally dumping waste will be prosecuted by the Council.
